2. The creature had been born to normal human parents who had been expecting a normal human baby girl, but she was fat and hideous, with skin like a toad and little, piercing eyes. Eventually she took to covering herself up with bulky clothes and hoods, but still she was jeered at and mocked by the normal human children whenever she left the house.
3. Even her parents didn't speak to her, nor did they speak to each other much since she had been born. They had never even bothered to give her a proper name.
